About Us

Mark Johnson opened the Law Office of Mark B. Johnson in Andover, MA
in 1986. The firm has grown from one attorney and one secretary to
seven attorneys, six paralegals and a support staff of five. Mark
and Don Borenstein, who joined the office in 1997, formed Johnson &
Borenstein, LLC in 2006. The firm has attorneys admitted to practice
law in the State and Federal Courts of Massachusetts, New Hampshire,
Maine, California and the District of Columbia.
Our unique blend of practice areas and expertise allows us to
provide our clients with a well-rounded and expansive
representation. Client project assignments are structured so that
the same staff members work with each project from beginning to end
providing continuity and several staff that can address client
questions and issues.
This structure also allows the staff members assigned to the project
to get a "big-picture" understanding of the project as this is
sometimes overlooked when tasks within a case or project are
assigned to compartmentalized employees.
Generally, the same people work on same types of files, allowing
them to continually build their expertise in those areas thereby
providing the clients with more efficient, cost-effective
representation. In addition, the management structure in the office
is such that there is always more than one person who is familiar
with and able to address questions or concerns relative to any given
matter.
The combined 100+ years of experience among our real estate staff
members enables us to handle real-estate based projects which are
out of the ordinary or require a special understanding of particular
legal areas. For complex title matters we use a Land Court Title
Examiner with whom we have worked with for over 10 years to help
insure our clients get the best representation in real estate
matters. In addition, we are agents for six different title
insurance companies, this allows for creative title underwriting in
circumstances which require it.
Lastly, we make good use of current technologies but do so without
losing the personal service and personal touches that are so
necessary in effectively representing our clients. You are never
"just" a number to us.
